Traveled up to Port Hardy on the northern tip of the island two weekends ago. It was a relaxing two days with the family, and we stayed in the most charming cottages at Bear Cove. My aunt called it our weekend of "glamping."
Living in the Pacific Northwest, you get used to the rain, and it welcomed us in buckets when we got over to the Island.
Check-in time at the cottage wasn't until the afternoon, so we killed some time by Hardy Bay.
We found long lost descendants of the Ents behind our cottage.
And pulled together a last minute mini birthday surprise for a special little boy...
...where the dinosaurs came to visit with some friends from 100 Acre Woods!
The dinos decided to stay for breakfast the next morning; found them swimming in my yogurt and granola.
Spent the afternoon exploring Stories Beach.
Port Hardy is quite isolated and less touristy compared to some of the seaside towns you pass heading up there, but the wilderness surrounding the town is beautiful.
